UFC: FFTT 2 Prediction Results

First of all, this was a great event for one that was free. For the most part, I feel the results went the way people felt they would except for the main event. Matt Wiman defeated Cole Miller in a unanimous decision, Pat Barry defeated Joey Beltran in a unanimous decision, Mark Hominick defeated George Roop via TKO to recieve his shot at Jose Aldo's Featherweight title, Matt Mitrione defeated Tim Hague via TKO, and suprisingly, Melvin Guillard defeated highly touted Evan Dunham via TKO.

If I had to, I would have bet 100 bucks on Evan Dunham for this fight, and I am still shocked he didnt take the win. Melvin Guillard has had his ups and downs in the UFC and I had never expected him to run through Dunham so easily. He showcased his striking ability by knocking down and stunning Dunham many times throughout the fight, ending the fight decisively with a TKO. He was awarded Fight of the Night and Knockout of the night. Guillard claimed he would now go undefeated in 2011, and said he would also win the title. This is a pretty bold statement and I personally dont think he will be able to hang with the top contenders of the lightweight division, especially if he is put on his back and in danger of being submitted, as this is one of his main weaknesses. We'll find out soon enough if he is title-shot worthy.

As for points that we had all recieved based on our predictions, Vinny had 2 points, I (Shawn) had 4 points, Joe had 4 points, and Jon came in first for the event with 6 points, mainly because of his bold guess that Guillard would TKO/KO Dunham which was suprisingly correct.

The overall standings are as follows:

Standings:
Shawn: 6 points
Jon: 6 points
Vinny: 5 points
Joe: 4 points

See you all super-bowl weekend at UFC 126
